It has been many years since I last visited the Horror Crypt in Blackpool and wow it’s changed. When I last visited a good 10 years ago this attraction was in dire need of love and attention. Fastforward to today and this attraction is what a seaside chamber of horrors-esque attraction should be like.

The attraction starts with a number of props from movies including Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel Part 2 which to be honest would be worth the £3 entry price alone.

After the initial props section up the stairs you go where you are greeted with some brilliant animatronics. Gone are the dodgy lighting effects and broken figures and in its place are high quality animatronics, in well dressed sets with good timed lighting effects. Around each corner is another treat or surprise leading to a fantastic Frankensteins monster finale.

Speaking to the owner afterwards he is clearly passionate about the attraction and the elements within. Great care is taken to make sure everything is working well so that the guest has the best experience possible.

If you enjoy horror and are visiting Blackpool this is a true hidden gem half way between the Pleasure Beach entrance and the Big Blu Hotel close to Ripleys Believe it or not and Pizza Hut.

You can find out more at the Horror Crypt Facebook Page.
