Luna Springs Scare Maze Meltdown: Victor’s Revenge Part II 2024
Luna Springs is a multi-purpose venue in Digbeth, Birmingham. A hub for bottomless brunches, club nights and during October a great scare maze.
The Venue and Atmosphere
This year the venue has made some additions to enhance the visitor experience. This includes more cover for the unpredictable nature of British weather enabling you to soak up the atmosphere while keeping dry. A rotating cast of sideshow acts including on our visit someone walking on glass, well handled whips and a bed of nails act. Having these sideshows adds a little something extra to the overall experience.
As well as this there has been the inclusion of a couple of electric chairs, a merchandise stall and the opportunity to set off scares for patrons around the site. All fun additions that help bring the experience to life.
As well as this you have the return of some tasty food options, a DJ playing a variety of music plus a bar. It’s probably worth noting here that on select dates the venue is running a package deal where you can visit the scare maze before enjoying bottomless brunch.
The Maze
This year sees the scare maze at Luna Springs continue the story of Victor and the gruesome goings on within. The maze has matched the great level of theming and acting quality of last year. Each scene has wonderful set design and characters that pull you further into the story. The actors interact with the audience throughout not just with jump scares but scripted moments that move the story along.
I like that from the moment you enter you are already pulled into the storyline with a fun introduction bringing everyone up to speed with what’s happened. The whole idea of us being a group of health inspectors works well and is referenced throughout (even referenced by the roaming characters outside the maze). The maze builds tension through to the finale of intense strobes and actors left right and centre.
On our night the atmosphere was great but I should note that with that atmosphere comes a lot of people so if you wish to get through the maze quickly arrive early to avoid a lengthy queue.
Overall Luna Springs is a solid addition to the Halloween calendar with a great party atmosphere. The actors are superb with great scripted moments and impactful scares.
If you’re looking for scares with a party vibe in the midlands, Luna Springs Scare Maze is definitely worth checking out.
Luna Springs Scare Maze – Meltdown 2023
Nestled in Digbeth, on the outskirts of Birmingham in the Midlands, Luna Springs offers a unique venue with a wide array of events, from gigs and bottomless brunch to medium-scale festivals. Among its exciting offerings for 2023 is the new Scare Maze – Meltdown.
Before entering, we were uncertain about what to expect, but our concerns dissipated as we stepped through the doors. The atmosphere was electric, with food stands, bars, and a lively crowd. As we explored the venue, we caught our first glimpse of the scare maze, cleverly nestled amid the arches of the Duddeston Viaduct. The well-lit power plant-themed facade immediately set the tone for what lay ahead.
What added to the immersive experience was an in-character protester outside, expressing displeasure with the events inside the plant and warning against the tour. Such small touches, consistent throughout the attraction, set it apart from clichéd experiences, creating a uniquely immersive adventure.

Ignoring the protester’s warning, we joined the queue for the maze and encountered another character concerned about a missing cat. This intriguing theme continued, engaging us even before entering the maze.
Upon entering, the maze impressed with meticulous attention to detail. The sound of a Geiger counter in the background during the safety speech added to the immersive experience, perfectly aligning with the facility tour concept. This introductory scene efficiently divided larger groups into manageable batches, ensuring a smooth flow.
The maze leaned towards the theatrical side of scare attractions, which we found fitting. Well-designed scenes featured humor and a steadily growing sense of dread. While some phrases were repeated, they didn’t detract from the experience and aligned with the concept of a meltdown. The tension built as actors grew more frantic, culminating in a breathtaking penultimate scene and a finale filled with scares.
The sets were astonishing, rivaling theme park quality, a pleasant surprise for an events venue in Digbeth. The immersion was maintained from start to finish.
Overall, this event has become a must-attend for us. The actors were exceptional, the theming extraordinary, and the storyline engaging from the outset.
We were thrilled to preview this event and are eager to hear other visitors’ opinions as the season progresses. The Meltdown Scare Maze at Luna Springs runs until the end of October. Additionally, there’s a great opportunity for younger horror enthusiasts to visit Monday to Wednesday during earlier time slots. Don’t miss out!
