This is going to be a short review to remain spoiler free and to not ruin the experience for others.

Hell in a Cell has been running in the centre of Bristol for quite a few years. We had heard a lot of good things about this scary escape room including being awarded the SCAR award for the Best Horror Themed Room Escape Adventure in 2016.

The attraction, located in the cells beneath the old crown courts is the perfect setting for a scary escape room. You start the experience being handcuffed with police issue handcuffs and are then led into the cells. You would also traditionally be hooded but this has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. These cells are pitch black and filled with smoke. Your group are alone and left to find their way out.

We were joined by Amber and Dom from Parks, Scares and Glitter and Tim from ScareTOUR. For some scary fun.

The escape room takes place in a space with a number of rooms, old cells and body parts. We completed a number of puzzles pitched at the right level considering the intense experience. The puzzles lead nicely from one to the other with scary surprises throughout.

The completion of the puzzles leads up to a superb well designed finale that left us all with smiles on our faces.

Overall this is an excellent escape room with fun puzzles a great use of space and gripping from start to finish. I highly recommend visiting Hell in a Cell to anyone looking for something fun to do in Bristol.
