The Curse of Bermuda Falls is a brand new for 2024 scare attraction based near Henlow in Bedfordshire. They have a child friendly event that runs between 18:00 and 20:00 and a scarier 14+ event that runs from 20:00 to 22:00 each evening. We were kindly invited by the team to come along and see what the 14+ experience would be like.
The venue for The Curse of Bermuda Falls is at the site of an aquatics centre (the fishy type, not the swimming type) and it is also home to the appropriately named Koi Cafe. Also on the same site and available to play for a separate charge is a nicely themed 18-hole adventure golf course, the original Bermuda Falls.
Without much preamble we were told that it was time to enter and experience The Curse of Bermuda Falls. We entered into the first room and were given an entertaining opening spiel that explained the premise of the attraction, before chaos ensued and we were hastily ushered onward into Bermuda Falls. The event rightly markets itself as a scare attraction rather than a scare maze, as it leans more towards being a promenade experience where you weave through the nicely decorated sets leading to a series of theatrical vignettes.
With the different scenes there are also some decently executed classic illusions that form part of the attraction and it was populated by a good number of game, fun and gruesome individuals. It’s quite a short attraction, both in the length of walk and time it took to go round. We were through in about 15 minutes. We can see how the event could be a bit longer for slightly larger groups as the interactive elements in some scenes can be used to do crowd work with multiple individuals.
As it’s their first year they’ve understandably started with a limited budget, but they’ve done an impressive job with what they had and there are some nice bits of set, props and design as well as the energetic and fun cast who gave it their all throughout.
We enjoyed our time at The Curse of Bermuda Falls and would love to see what next year might bring if the team gets a larger bit of space for the event and a larger budget. Definitely worth a little trip to the event if you’re local. Bookings are available on selected dates from 11th October through to 2nd November

What a great experience!
Took my granddaughters 9 and 12 to the family friendly one. They loved it. The actors were excellent and the scenes were set out brilliantly. We had so much fun interacting with the actors.
After the maze we played the spooky crazy golf in the dark, atmospheric music playing and a well earned hot chocolate afterwards.
Will definitely return next year!👻
