Sadly Frightmare at Over Farm wasn’t able to take place this year due to Coronavirus but instead of not running an event the team put their thinking caps on and came up with The Walk. The Walk is a fun and spooky journey through a variety of eerie and sometimes scary scenes.

The scenes were really well designed with great theming and lighting. Each scene had one actor that managed to create a spooky experience as we went around with a little humour sprinkled in for good measure on a number of occasions throughout the experience. Personally, I would have liked to of heard more in the way of a soundtrack and sound effects but the individual scenes still worked well with lighting creating an atmosphere.

There are quite a few scenes ranging from Pirate’s Gallows to UV Toxic Wasteland. Each scene gave something different. At times an actor with a menacing stare just following you with their gaze, a grave digger with some lines that had us in stitches through to the more traditional jump scares.

The final scene we will keep a secret but let’s just say it gave a little taste of a more traditional scare event.

The fun didn’t end there as after The Walk you have the option to buy food and drink seated around a stage with a juggling and fire breathing act. The characters that direct you to your table are absolutely brilliant. They are silent but manage to provide humour in delivering the COVID rules as well as when cleaning tables after previous guests.

While this event isn’t the usual Frightmare it is still enjoyable and a fun night out.
