Walsall Scare Maze is hidden behind a bar in Walsall and wouldn’t be a place you would generally expect to find a scare attraction.

Making your way into the small courtyard you can see just how much work goes into this attraction. The theming is brilliant from the outset with a great facade and the detail flowing around the courtyard with living portraits on the walls.

Being behind a bar, drinks are readily available, there is also a selection of food options.

Now onto the maze itself. It starts with a photo opportunity (so make sure you look at the camera as I may not have) even this room is impeccably themed with a great use of smell.

The maze is a mixture of theatrical moments and intense impactful scares. You journey through some of the midlands darkest past meeting some interesting unsavoury characters along the way. From start to finish the maze takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion. You had tension, humour and sheer panic. The actors were incredibly engaging, they delivered some incredible scares from start to finish with some brilliant tense moments getting close and making you feel quite uncomfortable.

The whole maze was incredible from start to finish. It’s hard to highlight just one bit but for me I really enjoyed the bar scene with a scare that got the group good. The butcher section was a great balance of humour and scare and the finale was terrifying.

The maze has incredible theming throughout from the floor to the ceiling. The lighting, smells and special effects would not be out of place in a much larger attraction.

I think Walsall Scare Maze should be proud of what they have created, a fun, scary and enjoyable walk through some of the midlands past. I will definitely be telling everyone how great this is and can’t wait to see what the guys behind Walsall Scare Maze bring us next.

Walsall Scare Maze is running on select nights until the 2nd November and returning for some festive scares this December.
